Headliner Theme Documentation

Headliner is a premium Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme for artists, DJs, producers, labels, releases, tour campaigns, fan signup, and focused merchandise stores.

Quick start

  1. Upload the Headliner theme ZIP in Shopify Admin under Online Store > Themes.
  2. Keep the theme unpublished while configuring it.
  3. Open Customize and set the brand name, logo, favicon, colors, fonts, and social links.
  4. Replace the homepage hero, release cards, About content, merch collection, and newsletter copy.
  5. Configure the header and footer menus.
  6. Test products, variants, cart, checkout, forms, search, and mobile layouts before publishing.

Homepage setup

Headliner's default homepage includes Artist hero, announcement ticker, Music releases, Artist about, optional Tour dates, Merch preview, and Newsletter signup. Every section can be reordered, hidden, or removed in the Theme Editor. Use separate desktop and mobile hero images and review focal points at phone, tablet, and desktop widths.

Release setup

Add release blocks in Music releases. Supply square artwork, a release type, title, supporting text, and at least one intentional destination. Supported destinations include Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, YouTube, Bandcamp, and a primary link. The View all releases button uses Headliner's built-in release archive when no custom destination is selected.

Tour date setup

Tour dates are merchant-managed entries with date, city, venue, status, ticket label, and ticket URL. Hide the section when there are no current dates. Automatic syncing with ticket providers requires a compatible app or custom integration and is not included in Headliner.

Merch and products

Create products and variants in Shopify, assign complete product media, connect option values to their matching images, and place products in a collection. Select that collection in Merch preview. Headliner supports Shopify product media, variants, quantity, dynamic checkout, payment terms, pickup availability, selling plans, unit pricing, recommendations, complementary products, and app blocks when the corresponding Shopify features are configured.

Navigation and social links

Select Shopify menus in Header and Footer. Upload a transparent logo or use the brand-name fallback. Paste controlled social URLs into Theme settings > Social links; unused services should remain blank.

Newsletter

Headliner uses Shopify's customer form. Successful submissions create or update a customer record with the newsletter tag. Sending campaigns requires Shopify Email or another configured email service.

Accessibility and mobile

Headliner includes keyboard-operable navigation, focus management, responsive layouts, reduced-motion support, labeled forms, and accessible product interactions. Merchants remain responsible for descriptive image alt text, readable copy, accessible color choices, and testing content changes before publishing.

Frequently asked questions

Does Headliner install with Aglet branding?

No. The uploadable theme installs with polished neutral artist defaults. Aglet is the rights-owned demonstration artist.

Does Headliner automatically import releases or tour dates?

No. Releases and dates are merchant-managed so the theme remains reliable and does not misrepresent third-party integrations. Compatible apps can be added through Shopify app blocks where supported.

Can I use my own logo, colors, fonts, products, and social profiles?

Yes. These are editable in Shopify's Theme Editor and product administration without editing theme code.

Does Headliner include hosting, custom development, or third-party app subscriptions?

No. Shopify hosting and subscription fees, domain registration, product setup, third-party apps, ticketing integrations, custom code, and content production are separate unless explicitly included in a written service agreement.

Support

Theme support covers documented setup guidance, reproducible Headliner defects, compatibility with supported Shopify theme features, and clarification of existing settings. Support does not include custom design, content entry, third-party app debugging, custom integrations, business operations, or legal advice.

Email aglet@agletmusic.com or use the Headliner support form. Theme-related questions receive a response within two business days. Critical reproducible defects are prioritized.
